As a fan of the British royal family, how many of you know that Queen Elizabeth owns a Mcdonalds?
A common man may be 700 light-years away from owning a Mcdonald’s but the royal family is set for life.
In addition to her precious jewellery and expensive racehorses, the Queen also has an impressive property portfolio. The Crown Estate includes some incredibly grand and iconic holdings. Some of them are The Savoy Hotel, Ascot Racecourse more castles than you can shake a stick at. It seems that the Queen of England, Elizabeth is also in possession of something a bit more low-brow: a McDonalds franchise outside of London.
The Crown Estate owns a McDonalds in Banbury Gateway Shopping Park. It is about 80 miles outside of London. It was created by an Act of Parliament and has property worth a total of £2.4 billion. We all very well know that the restaurant is not her personal property but rather that of the Crown Estate.

Hence, all profit goes to the Treasury. Visitors to the franchise are unlikely to see the Queen herself there. However, the reigning monarch reportedly prefers eating cereal and snacks out of Tupperware containers at home. But it’s not all stately piles.

‘The Banbury Gateway Shopping Park’ in Oxford is on land that forms part of the Crown Estate. Hence, it has to offer Her Majesty. The shopping centre also has a Primark and an Ed’s Easy Diner too. This also takes care of all her fashion and fast food needs.

Princess of Wales, Diana was known to take the young Prince William and Prince Harry on the occasional McDonald’s trip. So there are chances we can see Prince George and Princess Charlotte stop by for a Happy Meal one day.
But owning a McDonald’s as well? Now that’s priceless…
