In a rare interview in 2016, Kate Middleton shared her experience of taking part in engagements alongside the Queen.
Kate Middleton was welcomed into her new family and everyone felt comfortable enough to tease her initially.
Well, this also applies when your in-laws are the British Royal Family. For the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, the matter of the (gentle) ribbing is a new behavioural habit she adopted while on royal duties. “I think there is a real art to walkabouts,” she said, referring to the moments when Royal Family members greet members of the public on the street.
“Everyone in the family teases me that I spend to much time chatting. So I think I’ve still got to learn a lot more and to pick up a few more tips, I suppose.” (Okay, yes—as far as things to be dragged about by your in-laws go, it’s pretty tame. But still.) We have no idea what she actually means by “too much chatting” by royal standards, but Kate Middleton has obviously had plenty of charming moments during walkabouts over these years.

Kate Middleton has previously sprinkled some cute anecdotes about her own children throughout her chats with fans. Kate Middleton recently revealed Princess Charlotte nickname is Lottie.

Back in November, Kate also charmed a group of Italian fans with her (fundamental) language skills, greeting them with a cheerful “Ciao”. “I’m so bad, she exclaimed. I have to make sure my children are better than me, that’s my aim,” she added, somewhat apologetically. As for the teasing from her royal in-laws, it seems she can give as good as she gets.
According to many reports, Kate Middleton has nailed the art of purchasing gag gifts, especially for Christmas traditions. One year, she’s said to have presented a single Prince Harry with a ‘Grow Your Own Girlfriend’ kit.

The Duchess also isn’t afraid to give husband Prince William a ribbing, even while out on public engagements. Kate’s also teased the future king about his thinning hair on various occasions. During their visit to the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2014, she suggested he try an alpaca hair toupee, saying, “You need it more than me.”
