Till now, the Duke of Edinburgh, Philip has already been named ‘Personal Aide-de-Camp’ to Her Majesty. Also the Royal Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. And the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.

She has already bestowed upon him the big one. That was when he went from being Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. It was about a decade after they were married. That promotional honour was given 60 years ago from now. So, how does Queen Elizabeth top that?
With the Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, an honour that recognizes ‘services to the Sovereign’. It is a big ‘thank you’ for sticking around all these years. Both Prince Harry and the Queen’s daughter-in-law, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, have one.
But it indeed is special to be able to transfer that title over to one’s husband. This Monday night, the Royal couple gathered with the other Royal Family members and friends at Windsor Castle for dinner.
