Queen Elizabeth ‘bans’ Harry and Meghan from the palace?

Queen Elizabeth

If you happen to get an invitation from Queen Elizabeth any time soon, you might want to fight against your instinct to immediately ask her how the Sussexes are doing.

Queen Elizabeth doesn’t like to talk about the Sussexes. Well, that’s according to journalist Quentin Letts. He Tweeted to his 20,000 followers, revealing a rare insight from behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace.

The Sussex family is off-limits as a topic of conversation with Queen ElizabethLetts shared the gossipy tidbit on Twitter Friday, but, like most gossip, it didn’t exactly come firsthand. In this case, the scoop came via the “friend of an acquaintance,” apparently.

“Friend of an acquaintance was about to go riding with HMQ,” he wrote. “Was given v firm advice. ‘Talk about anything except one subject.’ Brexit? ‘No. The Sussexes.'” Good to know, I guess?

Quentin’s Twitter followers couldn’t get enough of the tidbit of chitchat from Queen Elizabeth’s horse rides, with many saying Her Majesty must be seriously peeved about something to utter such words.

Others thought it was simply Queen Elizabeth’s way of letting outsiders know she doesn’t discuss family matters with anyone outside her inner circle.

Keeping up with the Sussexes

Queen Elizabeth has been very inviting to the Duchess of Sussex since she joined the Royal Family in May 2018. The 93-year-old Monarch welcomed the former Suits star and her mum, Doria Ragland, to Sandringham for Christmas before she was even a royal, and only weeks after her pre-marriage ceremony to Prince Harry, she brought Meghan on board the imperial train for their first official open trip together.

A month ago, royal pundit Duncan Larcombe guaranteed it was every one of them a key proceed onward the Queen’s part, so Meghan feels more incorporated into the family than her late relative, Princess Diana did. Duncan disclosed to that Queen Elizabeth including Meghan in royal life is ‘potentially due to the lessons of the past where Princess Diana basically felt like an outsider in the illustrious family’.

“Meghan appears to have made a very cosy association with the Queen in the event that you contrast that with when other individuals have hitched into the illustrious family,” she said. Their close bond was apparently framed after Prince Harry got down on one knee and popped the inquiry to Meghan in November 2018.
