The parenting trick from Kate and William you need to know

The parenting trick from Kate and William you need to know

Every parent, including Kate and William, needs an ace in the hole when it comes to their children, and every child is different.

Here’s how Prince William and Kate Middleton parent their kids.

Parents learn on the job, and royal moms and dads are no different. Prince William and Kate Middleton rely on these surprising parenting tricks that some of you might want to take note of. Their first tip is certainly a sign of the times and a change in royal norms…

There’s no doubt that the British royals lived a lavish life, adhered to several rules and etiquettes and had to conduct themselves a certain way to look appropriate. But when it comes to parenting, royal parents are no different from the masses. They too have to deal with temper tantrums, have had their own pregnancy struggles and most importantly, have to continuously juggle work and family. However, it is commendable how they do it with extreme calm and composure.

Take the Prince and Princess of Wales for instance. Both Prince William and Kate Middleton have inspired many when it comes to parenting. Despite having their hands full with three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis they have managed to raise disciplined and lovely kids. That said, here’s a look at some of the tricks the royal couple use to keep their children happy and in order.

Letting kids be kids: It has been a delight to watch royal kids grow up. What’s beautiful is that irrespective of how they behave, they’re allowed to be who they are. We’ve seen Prince George acting cheeky in public places, and we’ve witnessed Prince Louis throwing a tantrum, but that’s just kids being kids. It’s wonderful how the royals handle the kids, without stopping them from having some fun.

Being a royal does not mean no fun and games: Over the years, royal parenting has changed dramatically. Now, more than order, discipline and restrictions, it is more about making kids feel normal, happy and excited. They’re encouraged to be themselves, have fun, be spontaneous and are given the option to choose their way, but at the same time, they’re also aware of their social responsibilities, the royal etiquettes and their duties.

Royal kids are allowed some screen time: Interestingly, royal children are also allowed some screen time, but it’s of course well-regulated. In an interview with Radio 1, Prince William revealed that his eldest son is a big fan of Peppa Pig and makes everyone watch it together. In between the two parents, Kate is reportedly more strict when it comes to screen time. Royal expert Katie Nicholl once told OK! magazine, “Kate is usually very strict on screen time and keeps it to a minimum.” “The emphasis during this time will be on arts and crafts, painting and doing things that aren’t screen-orientated,” she adds.

‘Chat sofa’ over ‘naughty step’ to discipline their kids: It was reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton are no fans of ‘naughty step’, a disciplinary tactic that has the child sit on a designated step in the house in silence, for one minute for every year. As opposed to this method, the royals are said to opt for ‘chat sofa’, wherein the misbehaving child is taken away from the point of misbehaviour and talked to by any of the parents. This does not involve yelling, just plain communication, where the problem is addressed and the consequences are listed.

The Princess of Wales’ code words and gestures: Hand gestures, body movements and code words seem to work great for the royal parents. During Pippa Middleton’s wedding in 2017, Prince George was seen acting a bit cheeky and out of his element. It is when Kate intervenes and softly touches him on the head as a way of telling him to behave.

In addition, according to The Sun, Kate Middleton uses a simple code word to calm her kids down and it’s, “Let’s take a break”. When the royal parent says or signals it’s time for a break, children automatically know that they need to calm down and start behaving.

Queen Elizabeth’s last words on Archie & Lilibet: Fascinating details disclosed by Prince Harry

Prince Harry

Queen Elizabeth passed away in 2022. But Prince Harry will always remember the time she spent with his two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Prince Harry talked about the lovely encounter his two young children, Lilibet and Archie, had with Queen Elizabeth II just before her passing.

Despite the family rivalry that erupted in the last years of Queen Elizabeth II’s life, Prince Harry and his late grandmother shared a close relationship. At 96 years old, the Queen passed away. During a voyage back to the UK, Harry revealed the last moments the late monarch spent with his children, Archie and Lilibet.

In a newly resurfaced excerpt from his memoir, Spare (courtesy of Buzzfeed News), Prince Harry recalled “the final visit” between his kids and his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. The Duke of Sussex, 39, described his children’s behaviour during the long-awaited meeting.

The Duke of Sussex disclosed that the children’s excellent behaviour took aback Queen Elizabeth. He remarked, “I think she had expected them to be a little more…American.” “Meaning more boisterous, in her opinion.”

Following the funeral, Prince Harry went to California and acknowledged that his interactions with his children had changed as a result of Queen Elizabeth’s passing. It also made him realize how valuable that last visit had been.

He then on, alluding to his wife Meghan Markle, “We couldn’t stop hugging the children, couldn’t let them out of our sight, for days and days.” “Yet I also couldn’t stop thinking about them with Granny.”

The real reason why William & Kate decided not to name Charlotte after Queen Elizabeth

Kate, Charlotte and Queen

Kate and Prince William decided not to name Charlotte after her grandmother Princess Diana or great-grandmother, the Queen.

Obviously, there’s a big reason why Kate and William didn’t name Charlotte after the late Queen.

The royal naming game—is always a topic of interest and speculation. When it comes to deciding names for their little ones, William and Kate surely caused a stir with their decision not to name Princess Charlotte after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. So, what’s the real reason behind this royal naming mystery? Let’s dive in and seek the truth.

First things first, let’s address the elephant in the room: Queen Elizabeth. As the longest-reigning monarch in British history, her influence was unquestionable. So, why did Prince William and Kate Middleton opt to forego such a big name name?

Well, it turns out, there’s more to this story than meets the eye. While it’s correct that Charlotte’s middle names—Elizabeth and Diana—pay homage to both her great-grandmother and her late grandmother, the decision to omit “Elizabeth” from her first name wasn’t a snub.

Kate Middleton and Prince William declined to think of naming Princess Charlotte after either Princess Diana or the Queen out of security fears. This decision distinguishes the Cambridges with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who named their daughter Lilibet Diana after both the Queen and Diana. Instead of her first name, Charlotte was named after her grandmother and great-grandmother with her middle name – Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

A new Channel 5 documentary, ‘Secrets of the Royal Palaces’ debated the naming decision by the Cambridges. Richard Kay, a Daily Mail royal journalist and columnist, said: “I think he very wisely chose not to give Charlotte his mother’s name as her first name. “Everything she did and said would have been compared with her. “By giving Diana as the middle name, it means Diana is still there.” Emily Andrews, royal editor of the Mail on Sunday, added: “William has spoken about the loss of his mother and the effect it had. “He thinks about her pretty much every day and he wants to keep his mother’s memory alive.”

When Harry and Meghan’s first daughter was born, the Sussexes chose to name her after the Queen’s family nickname – Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.

The documentary also revealed that Charlotte, born in 2015, was christened at a small church in Sandringham in the glory of Diana. Unlike her brothers Prince George and Prince Louis, who were christened at St James Palace, Charlotte’s christening was held in St Mary Magdalene’s Church on the Queen’s Sandringham estate. Ms Andrews explained: “It has the history through William’s mother, Diana Spencer, as she was also christened there.”
