Baby Lilibet Diana already starting to heal rifts between the Sussexes and the royal family?

It seems Harry and Meghan’s daughter, Lilibet Diana, is already starting to heal the rift between the Sussexes and the royal family.

Last year Harry and Meghan decided to name the baby Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Lilibet Diana’s birthday and the Queen’s platinum jubilee made it possible for everyone in the royal family to come together and celebrate both occasions. The pair brought both their little ones along for the trip. While son Archie was born in the U.K., the occasion marked Lilibet’s first time meeting her great-grandmother.  Lilibet is celebrating her first birthday today. Last year when she was born, she was weighing 7lbs 11oz.

All the members of the Royal Family took the help of social media to wish their daughter a very happy birthday, with Kate and William’s message seeming to show a shift in relations. Duchess Kate and Prince William posted a congratulatory message to the Sussexes’ on their social media accounts, which read: “Wishing a very happy birthday to Lilibet, turning one today!.”

Their Instagram post featured one of the beautiful black and white photos of the Sussex trio chosen to announce the news of their pregnancy earlier this year.

Their post has received nearly 1.5 million likes and well over 10,000 comments. The royal fans were quick to point out the gushing statement, which appears to show steps towards a royal reconciliation between the two families.

One person wrote: “So happy to see The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge take the high road and acknowledge this.” Another person said: “I never expected less than graciousness from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”.

A third wrote: “We can all learn a lesson on ‘taking the higher road’ by watching the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “I am proud to have them as my future King and Queen.” Another person added: “I envy your kindness, elegance and family values, after all the attacks (directly and indirectly) you received after all their public statements.

In June 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled back to the U.K. to celebrate the monarch’s 70 years on the throne during her Platinum Jubilee. While the couple did not stand with the queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colour, they enjoyed the parade from the Major General’s Office that overlooks the grounds.
