How Kate and William broke centuries old newly-wed royal sex tradition?

Do you know that Duchess Kate and Prince William broke centuries-old tradition when the couple decided to have a family?


You all must be wondering how they broke the tradition? Well, here we have all the answers for you.



This is because Prince William and Kate, already a parent to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are the first future monarchs in 200 years not to have conceived in the first year of their marriage.

Although, it’s not laid down in law. But, throughout Britain’s history, it has been a tradition that newlyweds will get on with the serious business of increasing the number of heirs immediately. But, modernists the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate re-wrote the sexual rule book.

It wasn’t until December 2013 that William and Kate announced they were expecting their first royal baby. Which was much to the delight of royal fans across the world. Sadly, Kate Middleton had suffered from crippling morning sickness ie hyperemesis gravidarum. Hence, the couple announced the news before the 12-week to avoid all the wild speculation.

But, the public didn’t have to wait so long before, other future monarchs.

In fact, Prince Charles was born just six days before his parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Writing for Catherine, the royal author, Gill Knappett said: “By the time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their first wedding anniversary, they were the first future monarchs in 200 years not to have conceived within the first year of marriage”.



“However, it is thought that William and Kate, as newlyweds, may have delayed starting a family. Why? So that they could take part fully in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012

“Part of Prince William and Kate’s commitment to Queen Elizabeth in her Diamond Jubilee year involved the young couple touring Asia on behalf of Her Majesty in September 2012”.

Speaking about the couple’s commitment to the head of state, Ms Knappett added: “For William, this is indeed an undertaking he has prepared for his whole life and readily accepts. For Kate, they are duties she equally accepts in her role as a wife of a future King of England. A position for which she has been coached to fulfil since their engagement”.
