Duchess Catherine: Nobody cooks my ‘favourite dish’ better than Prince William

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton,  recorded a TV special with the famous cook, Mary Berry, in 2019.

So, how many of you were aware that the future king, Prince William, is also good at cooking food?

We all are aware of the fact that the Duchess of Cambridge is a dab hand in the kitchen. She enjoys cooking a roast dinner for her family and baking cakes with her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, did you know that Prince William also likes to cook once in a while – even if he does declare himself that he’s “not very good at it”.

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on the TV special, A Berry Royal Christmas, in 2019 alongside famous cook Mary Berry, Duchess Kate talked about how her husband prepares her favourite meal for her. Mary asked if the Duke ever cooks for his wife, to which the Duchess replied: “He sometimes does actually. He’s really good at preparing breakfast for me.”

Kate Middleton also shed some light on the early days of her romance with William, when they were both studying with each other at St Andrew’s University. “In [our] college days he used to cook all varieties of meals,” she revealed. “I think that was when he was trying to impress me, Mary. Things like Bolognese sauces and things like that and he’s really good it at.”

The couple had joined Mary for the one-off TV special. The aim was to highlight the charities and causes they’re passionate about, completing in a Christmas party at London’s Rosewood Hotel for which they prepared the menu. Duchess Catherine also remarked: “Reminds me of my university days when I did a bit of waitressing.” “Were you good?” asks Mary, to which the Duchess laughs and replies: “No, I was terrible!”

This isn’t the first occasion Prince William has expressed about his culinary skills. In 2017, on a visit to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Prince revealed: “I do like cooking, but I’m not very good at it.”
