Meghan Markle

Every girl will probably relate to what Meghan Markle said about her 20s

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle had abandoned her lifestyle site “The Tig”, where occasionally she’d write about her experiences as a working actress and young woman in her early thirties.

Meghan Markle wrote about her 20s in a lifestyle blog she once had.

From the outside looking in, Meghan Markle appeared to have it all. Once a cast member of the hugely prosperous TV show Suits, she is now married to Prince Harry and has a baby, Archie. Somehow, The Express and People dug up one of her personal blog posts, where Meghan Markle addressed her struggles in her teens and early twenties. At that time she was also trying to figure herself out. Why, quite honestly, those years weren’t her greatest, something many women can relate to.

It appears that Meghan Markle wasn’t always as self-assured and positive as she would now appear. In a lifestyle blog, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, one had entitled The Tig she bestowed her former uncertainties.

Meghan wrote that as she got older, she discovered that simply being herself is “enough,” and urged fans to find their own happiness.

According to The Express, on the now-deleted platform she wrote:

“I am 33 years old today. And I am happy. And I say that so plainly because, well…it takes time. To be happy. To figure out how to be kind to yourself and to not just choose that happiness, but to feel it…My 20s were brutal – a constant battle with myself, judging my weight, my style, my desire to be as cool/as hip/as smart/as ‘whatever’ as everyone else.”

My high school had cliques: the black girls and white girls, the Filipino and the Latina girls. Being biracial, I fell somewhere in between. I must have been about 24 when a casting director looked at me during an audition and said, ‘You need to know that you’re enough. Less makeup, more Meghan.’”

Then, she poignantly told her readers the education she learned: to look within to find value, not to any boyfriend, job, or whatever else. “You need to know that you’re enough,” she wrote. “A mantra that has now engrained itself so deeply within me that not a day goes by without hearing it chime in my head. That five pounds lost won’t make you happier, that more makeup won’t make you prettier. The now-iconic saying from Jerry Maguire—‘You complete me’—frankly, isn’t true.

Pretty encouraging to read that in her 20s, Meghan was a girl after our own hearts, just trying to figure it all out. Well, she did a great job.
