Meghan Markle Prince Harry

How Meghan’s dysfunctional family strengthened her relationship with Harry & other royals?

Harry

Most of the royal fans have been obsessed with Meghan Markle ever since she was engaged with Prince Harry.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding was a stupendous event that was followed by many fans that love them.

Some of Meghan Markle’s family members were a thorn in her side ever since the weekend of her wedding to Prince Harry. But that didn’t stop her from being kindly welcomed by the royal family. In fact, as E! News reports, her family melodrama in fact helped her to get an “in” with the Windsors.

The royal family is all about propriety, honour and elegance. They’re the living representation of the UK’s centuries of history and tradition. As such, they must steadfastly avoid any embarrassment or anything that would cause dishonour to the family.

So one might consider that once Meghan’s father and half-siblings began a coordinated campaign to drag their relative through the mud, the Windsors would have locked her out for their own protection. But like we all know, the opposite happened. Her father-in-law, Prince Charles, loves her just like a daughter. She still shares a very close with Queen Elizabeth’s. And lastly, she and her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, are more like actual sisters, even though a few media reports might not suggest this.

In fact, Meghan’s family drama isn’t just something that the Windsors collectively overlook when it comes to Meghan — it’s something that has apparently helped her to get closer with them, especially Prince Harry. For a family that strives so hard to evade any embarrassment and negative publicity, they’ve had their fair share of embarrassment.

From Princess Elizabeth’s uncle abdicating the throne to marry an American actress to Prince Charles’ divorce with Princess Diana, they’ve suffered it all. Such a record of royal drama could include far-less-major but still-embarrassing incidents — like Princess Anne’s affair with a married man or any of Prince Philip’s many public gaffes. Long story short, if any family knows about dramatic affairs, it’s the Windsors.

Royal documentarian Angela Levin says that family drama is so old-hat to the Windsors that Meghan’s troublesome relatives back in the United States were really something of an asset to her. As it turns out, the Windsors have always supported Meghan and Harry in their decisions even when the couple decided to quit their royal roles in January 2020.

The Windsors extended their love for Meghan to one of her relatives — the one relative who doesn’t continually try to embarrass the Duchess. We all know her name, don’t we? Yes, it’s her mother, Doria Ragland.
