After more than 10 years since her wedding, Camilla Parker Bowles has given her first interview on life in the Royal Family.


She revealed that her strong character and positive attitude kept her going all along in the family.

She also spoke on a personal level. Duchess Camilla discussed the difficulties she faced when she and Prince Charles became a couple for the second time. They first dated in the early seventies after meeting at a polo match. Suddenly Prince Charles was then called away on naval duties overseas.

Duchess Camilla then went on to marry Andrew Parker Bowles. Rekindling their relationship was a challenge, however, as the public were initially hostile to the union.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla got married in 2005. Camilla told that for a year she was housebound and avoided the press.

She said: “I couldn’t really go anywhere. It was a deeply obnoxious time and I wouldn’t want to put my worst enemy through it”. Camilla said that her strong character and happy upbringing saw her through the tough times.

    Camilla says her “strong character ” helped her get through the difficult times when she and Prince Charles resumed their relationship. I wouldn’t describe someone who has an affair with another woman’s husband as having a “strong character “.
