Birthday boy, Archie, was a royal baby born without a title.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made it very clear from the starting that they didn’t want their little one to grow up in the spotlight. But still, they have shared a handful of rare photos from time to time over the past 12 months. These pictures are mostly showing Archie’s most adorable and heartwarming moments with his royal relatives.

MAY 2019
Meghan Markle gave birth to her first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on May 6. The couple broke a royal tradition when introducing Archie at a private photocall at Windsor Castle. This incident took place two days after his birth. Instead of following the old tradition of showing baby outside the hospital steps, the couple chose to photocall. Meghan said “I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m pretty happy,’ during the photocall.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t announce the royal baby’s name until after they had introduced him to the Queen and Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland. Over the next few weeks and months that followed, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept their newborn son completely out of the spotlight. Nevertheless, they were given delightful baby presents wherever they went. This includes the like of miniature Invictus Games outfit as well.
JULY 2019
Archie made his first appearance with the royal family at his christening ceremony. The christening ceremony took place in the month of July. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were unable to attend the ceremony. Other royals — including Prince Charles and Camilla — made sure that they showed up for the below ↓ shown special portrait.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t allow the press to attend the ceremony at all. However, the couple later released a few special photos to mark this very special occasion of baby Archie’s christening.
SEPTEMBER 2019
The four-month-old baby Archie joined his parents to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu during their royal tour of Africa. Cleary, Archie was clearly very much amused about the meeting. It was for the first time fans got to see a glimpse of the little one’s hair, which appeared red like his dad’s.
