It’s already been 4 years since Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding. And, all the royal fans are still enamoured, arent we?

So, what do you think, did everything go smoothly at Meghan and Harry’s wedding?

Well, mostly it did. But, there were some parts so, small, that almost went unnoticed. They say, even picture-perfect weddings sometimes have little stumbles. From a lost bouquet to a misprint, this wedding had some tiny missteps.

Here are five things you had no idea went wrong when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married.

There was a mistake in the wedding program: Just a few days before the wedding, everyone was confused about Meghan’s father, Thomas. After being caught out staging photos for TMZ, he flip-flopped between attending and skipping her daughter’s wedding. But then, as the time came close to the wedding, Meghan Markle released a statement.

She said: “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health. I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support”.

However, when it was all decided, someone forgot to tell the programmer. The official program for the day went out with Thomas Markle still written in it. It read: “The Bride, having been greeted by the Dean of Windsor, moves in procession through the Nave where she is joined by her Father, Mr Thomas Markle, to the High Altar”. On the wedding day, Meghan chose Prince Charles to walk her down the aisle.

Bishop Michael curry’s sermon went over time: Although it did win him some hearts across the globe. Bishop Michael Curry’s fiery sermon at the wedding did disrupt the programming a little. His impassioned speech went over his allotted time reportedly by almost double the original time.

The presence of Harry’s exes caused a stir: As soon as it was announced that not one, but two of Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriends would be attending the wedding, eyebrows were raised. After this, a scandal erupted when the press got wind that Harry and Chelsy had had a ‘tearful’ last phone call before the wedding.

People were on the wrong side of the portraits: If you compare Harry and Meghan’s official wedding portraits with Kate and William’s you’ll notice that there’s a big difference. In William and Kate’s, all of Kate’s family is on one side, and all of William’s is on the other. This is the traditional way of styling royal wedding portraits.

But in Meghan and Harry’s, family members aren’t strictly choosing sides. William and Kate are on the bride’s side, while Charles, Camilla, Philip and the Queen are on the other.

Meghan’s half-brother’s letter: In terms of royal wedding drama it doesn’t get much more dramatic than Meghan’s half-brother writes a letter to the groom. The letter is about imploring him to cancel the wedding.

In the lead-up to the wedding, Thomas Markle Jr. wrote to Prince Harry urging him to call the whole thing off. He said: “Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you. She is a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage”.
