Prince William and Duchess Catherine are showing they can get their hands dirty by growing their own vegetables.
William and Kate have hired a gardener to help them with gardening activities in their Norfolk home in Anmer Hall.
Cottage garden expert Robin Parker is in charge to help the royals make their garden into a landscape of beautiful blooms and tasty vegetables. The Sun reported the news that Kate hired Robin to help her become more green-fingered. “He’s helping her become more self-sufficient. She loves cooking stuff she’s grown,” a friend of the Duchess said.
“It’s all a bit like Barbara and Tom in BBC TV comedy The Good Life.” In the seventies, BBC programme, Tom and his wife Barbara decided to become self-sufficient by turning their suburban back garden into a farm. It’s not only flowers, plants and trees which Robin has been hired for. His duties also include looking after swings and climbing frames for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince George has been giving a helping hand in the garden as he assisted his granddad, Prince Charles, plant two new trees in Highgrove House.

However, the 53-year-old is keeping tight-lipped on the matter. “Due to the nature of the people I work for, I am not allowed to talk about the job,” Robin said. The royal couple nearly spent £1.5million on renovations for the house almost half a decade ago, including an extensive tree-planting programme to give the family of four more privacy.
The couple also hired a housekeeper, Sadie Rice, 39, who had previously worked for Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
