There’s a weird reason why nobody calls Camilla the ‘Princess of Wales’.

Princess

Camilla is referred to as with the royal title of the Duchess of Cornwall worldwide. But, some raise question if she could be referred as Princess.

This question is being put up as Diana, first wife of Prince Charles is still, to be known as Prince Diana.

And while Prince Charles is the Duke of Cornwall, he is more importantly, the Prince of Wales. So, why is Camilla Parker Bowles not the Princess of Wales?

We have the answer just right here.

Well, according to royal expert, Marlene Koenig, Camilla is the Princess of Wales. Or at least technically she is. She says:-

“Camilla is HRH The Princess of Wales. Although, she is styled as HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. I believe the decision to use Cornwall was done to appease the Diana-manics”.

“I think it is silly to not style Camilla as HRH The Princess of Wales. Diana was famously known as the Princess of Wales, so perhaps it is a sign of respect for the late Princess”.

So, what happens when Charles becomes King? Will Camilla be Queen?

The answer to this question is, no. According to Hello Magazine, Camilla will be known as the Queen consort. Hello Magazine says:-

“At the time of her 2005 wedding to Charles, Clarence House said the Duchess of Cornwall would be known as Queen Consort when her husband becomes the King”.

“Memories of his divorce and the tragic death of Diana meant the public were not receptive to the idea of Camilla becoming the Queen at that time”.

“There is nothing to suggest that the plan has changed. Although, many royal fans are convinced that the Prince of Wales wants his wife to be titled as Queen alongside him when he is crowned”.
