What wedding gifts will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ask for?

Ever worried about buying gifts for the newlyweds? Well, this time its no ordinary couple, it’s Harry and Meghan. What would you give them if you were invited?

Those invited to their wedding must be in trouble already.

It’s hard enough buying wedding gifts for an average bride and groom. What price will be the appropriate one? Do I stick to the registry or just go rogue?

Ultimately, these concerns are nothing compared to what guests invited to the royal wedding might have. Why? Because it’s the royals and the royal family we are talking about. What on earth would they need from us?

Clearly they don’t need huge or expensive gifts. It’s likely that Prince Harry and Meghan will ask for donations in lieu of gifts.

As pointed out earlier in some reports, that’s exactly what the Duke of Cambridge, William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate did when they wed back in 2011. Not to forget, given the couple’s extensive charitable work, odds are we’ll see them follow in William and Kate’s footsteps.

A statement from Clarence House read in the year 2011:

“Having been touched by the goodwill shown to them since the announcement of their engagement, Prince William and Miss Middleton have asked that anyone who might wish to give them wedding gifts consider giving instead to a charitable fund”.

“Many of the charities are little known, but undertake excellent work within specific communities. These charities particularly have a resonance with Prince William and Miss Middleton. They also reflect issues in which the couple have been particularly interested in their lives to date”.

Such a statement has yet to be announced for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. But, one might imagine that it would indeed benefit organisations close to the royal’s heart such as the Invictus Games, Sentebale, and Head’s Together.
