An unexpected guest arrives for Queen’s Christmas lunch today.

Lunch

Today, all the members of the royal family gathered at the Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty’s pre-Christmas lunch. This gathering also included Prince Philip.

The monarch annually gathers her extended family members for the meal.

It is done before leaving for Sandringham to celebrate the festive period until February. This year’s lunch is set to be particularly exciting.

And why will that be?

Well, that is because Prince Louis will be attending for the first time, as well as Princess Eugenie’s new husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Normally no pictures are released from inside the event. But it is a time when all the royals can get together and enjoy each other’’s company during the festive period.

The guests tend to be snapped when they drive themselves in and out of Buckingham Palace to enjoy the festivities.

And, in doing so, we got a glimpse of the Duke of Edinburgh.

The retired Prince Philip looked smart in a black suit and blue patterned tie as he made his way to the festive feast with his wife and the UK’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth.

The Countess of Wessex, Sophie looked in good spirits. She drove herself in to Buckingham Palace with her 14-year-old daughter, Lady Louise, alongside her.

Well, that’s not all.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan were also been pictured leaving Kensington Palace to make their way to Buckingham Palace.

Last year’s Christmas lunch was a first for the new royal bride, Meghan. Prince William and Kate Middleton are due to attend the pre-Christmas lunch.

The royals were able to admire Her Majesty’s three Christmas trees. They have been decorated with white lights and various regal decorations.
