Theresa May, the prime minister of Great Britain, became the first world leader to visit President Donald Trump since he’s taken office.
Many questions were looming over the meeting was whether the Royal Family would extend an invitation to the Trumps for a formal state visit ?
During a joint press conference, Theresa May confirmed that an invitation was extended to Donald and Melania Trump which they accepted. “I have been able to convey her majesty the Queen’s hope. USA President, Donald Trump and the first lady will pay a visit to the United Kingdom later this year. I’m quite delighted and honored that the president accepted the invitation,” May said. It’s not clear when the states visit will take place.
The United States Of America and the United Kingdom have always shared a “special and strong relationship,”. This is an informal term that refers to the nation’s close political, diplomatic, economic and military ties with each other.

Donald Trump, who said during a prepared remark that the country’s relationship has “never been stronger,”.
“Mr. President, you’ve said before that, torture works. You’ve praised countries like Russia, you’ve also said you want to ban some Muslims from coming into the country. You even suggested that there should be a punishment for abortion. For many people in UK, those sound like alarming beliefs. What do you say to our viewers at home who are worried about some of your views and worried about you becoming the leader of the free world” ?
“This was your choice of a question ? There goes that relationship. I support torture but would refer this to my defense secretary, General James Mattis, on this topic. Well, Mattis opposes torture. It is too early for me to tell how my relationship with Russia will be, in future”.
