The serious reason behind the absence of Camilla from the Queen’s Christmas lunch.

Camilla

Almost every royal member attended the Annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace which was hosted by Queen Elizabeth. However, few were missing.

Those few included, the newly weds, Eugenie and Jack and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.

Her Majesty’s annual holiday lunch is one of the few events that gathers all of the royal members together. It included around 50 of Elizabeth’s closest family members.

However, there was some absenteeism noted.

This year, there were three notable absences. Camilla Parker Bowles, and the newlyweds Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

All, it would appear, missed the lunch for the same simple reason: illness. Clarence House recently reported that Camilla was dealing with a bad cold.

She also had to cancel an appearance at the Olympia Horse Show two days ago. Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack’s illness seems to have come on quickly.

That is because the royal pair attended charity premiere of the movie ‘Sharkwater Extinction’ the night before. The newlywed couple reportedly began to feel unwell overnight.

One would hope that all three recover before Christmas.

For her part, Queen Elizabeth has already made the trip up to Sandringham. Sandringham is the estate where the royals spend Christmas and New Year’s.

According to some reports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate will stay with their three young children at their nearby home, Anmer Hall.

The other half of the fab four, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan will also be in attendance for Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.

The royal fans will get to see them all together on Christmas Day. It will be around the time of their annual walk to services at St Mary Magdalene.
