Queen Elizabeth has reigned for 66 years now. With her being at the throne, she has faced a lot of challenges. With everyday passing by, she gained experience. 


She has set records, nobody has ever achieved.

The next nationwide celebrations for a jubilee event will be in the year 2022. It will be the time when Her Majesty celebrates 70 years on the throne. The Platinum Jubilee will also take place in the same year as Queen Elizabeth will turn 96-years-old. 

With all those years yet to come, no wonder Queen Elizabeth has broken an exceptional number of records. Here we have some of them for you ti have a look:

LONGEST REIGNING BRITISH MONARCH.

On 9 September, 2015, Her Majesty surpassed her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria’s, who reigned for 63 years 216 days. The occasion was met by celebrations across the nation.

LONGEST REIGNING LIVING MONARCH.

When the Thai King Bhumibol died in the year 2016, Queen Elizabeth became the longest reigning living monarch ever. King Bhumibol reigned for about 73 years, a record set that certainly Queen Elizabeth might surpass.

LONGEST-LIVED BRITISH MONARCH.

Once again Her Majesty surpassed Queen Victoria on 21 December, 2007 as the oldest British Monarch. On 27 February, 2024, Queen Elizabeth will proudly become the longest-lived descendant of Queen Victoria passing, Princess Alice who lived for 97 years, 312 days.

LONGEST MARRIAGE OF THE MONARCH.

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, Philip were married on 20 November, 1947. Last November, 2017 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.



MOST CURRENCIES.

Being the head of state of 16 Commonwealth countries has its own perks. Queen Elizabeth had more coinage with her effigy then any other monarch. Although, Her Majesty is not the head of the state in some places, like Fiji, she still appears on their coins.

MOST COUNTRIES VISITED.

Be it her royal duties, her vacation time or her paying condolences, she has indeed travelled to more countries than any other monarch. But, she might be slowing down now, due to her age. Still, she has the highest record.
