Queen Elizabeth has met many presidents during her long reign. But, some of those encounters were unforgettable.
Her Majesty has had many memorable encounters with the U.S. presidents.
Queen Elizabeth’s first presidential encounter took place 67 years ago when she was still a princess. She and Phillip hosted Harry S. Truman for a formal dinner at the Canadian Embassy in Washington in 1951.
The Queen’s first visit with a president after her coronation was with Dwight Eisenhower.
Two years later came her first state dinner for a president. She welcomed President John F. Kennedy and first lady Jackie to a lavish affair at Buckingham Palace.
Then came another encounter in the year, 1976. It was across the Atlantic that President Gerald Ford swept Her Majesty off her feet.
It was when the two danced together during a White House state dinner celebrating the American bicentennial.

Next was Ronald Reagan, a particular favourite of Queen Elizabeth.
He met her on four different occasions. The two bonded over their mutual love for horses. They also famously rode together in 1982 at Windsor Castle. Reagan described that as one of the most fun moments of his presidency.
Looking at the moment, royal biographer Robert Hardman said:-
“With Reagan, it was a really warm friendship. I mean once when Queen Elizabeth was in California with the royal yacht it was Reagan’s wedding anniversary”.
“The Queen invited them around for a special wedding anniversary dinner and they all ended up around the piano singing. Those are very special moments that don’t happen with a lot of world leaders”.
Queen Elizabeth’s encounter with George H.W. Bush.
He gave the British monarch a taste of America’s pastime. President Bush specially invited the royal couple to catch a baseball game in 1991. And, to our surprise, Her Majesty fit right in.
