Queen Elizabeth has made plans, and she wants to meet the U.S. President, Donald Trump. Mr Trump will be in the UK next month and is all set to meet her.
This visit will be taking place on July 13, Friday.
On talking to the U.S. ambassador, Robert Wood Johnson, he said:-
“Yes, I mean he has to see the head of state. This will be his first time since winning the election. Putting his foot on British soil, is job one, it’s very important, very symbolic”.
Plans are yet to be finalised, there is still some time left. Though, Queen Elizabeth will likely meet President Trump at Windsor Castle. And, he will engage in talks with Prime Minister, Theresa May while he is there.
There are high chances of protests, that are likely to take place.
Anti-Trump protests should be expected. As due to the the crisis enveloping the Trump administration over a ‘zero tolerance‘ immigration policy that has seen children separated from parents accused of crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
According some recent reports, more than 2,000 children have been removed from their parents and temporarily moved to government-run facilities or foster care to worldwide condemnation.
Prime Minister May has said that the images of children in cages at the border are deeply disturbing.
The last time President Trump was invited to the United Kingdom, over 1.8 million Britons signed a petition against the visit. He was invited by Prime Minister, Theresa May.
It was in January for the opening of the new U.S. embassy in London. But, Trump cancelled his official trip because he did not like the Obama administration’s choice of place for the new facility.
