Here is the first look of Queen Elizabeth and Meghan Markle’s outing.

Queen Elizabeth

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan stepped out in northwest England earlier today along the ultimate and most senior royal companion: Queen Elizabeth herself.

Both were looking gorgeous.

Her Majesty wore a lime green suit dress by Stewart Parvin and a matching hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan. And, Meghan wore a light beige pencil dress with a cape top by Givenchy.

About their travelling to Cheshire.

The Queen and Meghan disembarked in Cheshire, about 200 miles from London, via the royal train in Runcorn after spending the night aboard. The train is a favoured travel option for Her Majesty and other senior royals. Why? Because, it allows them to work and relax at the same time.

This joint outing is happening at triple speed as compared to Meghan’s predecessor, Kate Middleton. As the pair disembarked from the train, they were greeted by the Lord Lieutenant, David Briggs.

He told Meghan Markle: “I understand it is your first trip to the north of England”. To which, she replied: “That’s correct. I am very much happy to be here”.

The itinerary of their route.

The first place they visited was the Mersey Gateway Bridge. There, Meghan and the Queen met architects, planners and community representatives. They also watched a performance by some local school children. Then, Queen Elizabeth formally opened the bridge.

Their next stop is the Story house in nearby Chester. There, they were set to meet a Syrian settlement group. Then, watch a performance by the Fallen Angels dance company and catch a medley of songs.

The outing is seen as the Queen’s way of helping immerse Meghan into public royal engagements.

Charles Anson, the Queen’s former press secretary said: “It is the way of the royal family. It is all part of the training and getting used to being in public life and under public scrutiny. Showing people the ropes is the priority for Queen Elizabeth”.

“Her Majesty, knows the potential pitfalls of not giving the newest additions of the house a guiding hand. She can’t expect Meghan to know everything without it being shown”.
