How many estates are owned by Queen Elizabeth? Which one is her favourite?

Queen Elizabeth is the longest-reigning monarch in British history. She has many estates in the UK for herself and for her family. Her portfolio includes much more than just Buckingham Palace.

Some of these properties come with her title, while others came from an inheritance. Take a look at Queen‘s royal estates and dwellings.

  • The Headquarters: Buckingham Palace.

This palace is located in the City of Westminster. It belongs to the reigning monarch at the time. This tradition directly dates back to 1837. It has about a total of 775 rooms, which includes 19 Staterooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices, and 78 bathrooms. Visitors can have an insight into a number of the staterooms inside the palace during specific times of the year.

  • The Country Home: Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth moved here first with her sister, Margaret. Today, Her Majesty gives her frequent visits on weekends. As with the Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle is the home to Queen Elizabeth. It spans 13 acres and has 1,000 rooms. This makes it the largest occupied castle in the world.
