Buckingham Palace has released a few teasers for Queen Elizabeth’s pre-taped holiday speech to the U.K and the Commonwealth. It will broadcast tomorrow.
Her Majesty is going all in on peace, love and understanding in her annual Christmas message.
Her speech will reflect on the importance of treating others with consideration, the palace has announced.
In her speech, the Queen will say:-
“Even with the most deeply held differences, treating the other person with respect and as a fellow human being is always a good first step towards greater understanding”.
An accompanying picture taken in the White Drawing Room shows the 92-year-old reigning monarch dressed in her holiday finery, wearing an Angela Kelly ivory silk cocktail dress.
The gold, ruby and diamond Scarab brooch pinned to her bodice was given to her by the Duke of Edinburgh, in 1966.
Pointing out the details.
Next to her on the desk, is a framed black-and-white photo of the family in 1948. It was when Prince Charles was a baby. An enormous Christmas tree, trimmed in creams and golds, twinkles in the background.
The annual speech is significant because it is her own words. Christmas speech is the only public address she ever makes that isn’t written or edited by the government.
Her Majesty has plenty to talk about, this very year.
In the last year, the royal family has gained a new high-profile member. That is Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s wife. And the couple are also expecting their first child in the spring.
Her another grandchild, Princess Eugenie, married Jack Brooksbank this October. Then, Queen Elizabeth also welcomed two great-grandchildren.
First one was Lena Elizabeth, daughter of Zara Tindall, and Prince Louis, son of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Her speech will refer to many things.
It will refer to the places from which she draws strength and encouragement. Her Majesty will be mentioning faith, family and friendship as not only a constant for her, but a source of personal comfort and reassurance.
This was pretty much the gist of Queen Elizabeth’s 2018 Christmas speech. However, what the full speech will be like, will be known tomorrow only. Till then, Happy Christmas Eve.
