Doting dad! Queen Elizabeth’s former press spokesman, Dickie Arbiter tells The Royal UK exclusively why Harry and Meghan will be taking paternity leave.
“So basically, it’s a modern thing to do”, Arbiter, 79, explains to The Royal UK. The parents-to-be will be taking some time off from their royal duties following the birth of their child.
“Prince William did it for his children. And so, Harry’s going to do it for his, when his child is born. I mean, the older generation didn’t really do it. The older generation just got on with it. So, this is kind of a new thing. People do it, William did it and Harry is going to do it too”.
Dickie Arbiter also added, saying:-
“The duration of this leave depends on Harry. I would have thought no more than about two or three weeks”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, confirmed in January that they are expecting their first child together in late April or early May. The royal couple announced that they had a baby on the way in October of 2018. The statement from Kensington Palace read as:-

While the royal pair haven’t announced the gender of their little one, a source exclusively told The Royal UK last month, that Meghan and Harry already know the gender of their baby. When it comes to raising her firstborn, royal bride, Meghan wants to establish a new and normal life.
That is probably because Harry grew up with the entire world watching his every move. And this has made Prince Harry very private and somewhat resentful of the role he was born into. And so, the-father-to-be, Harry does not want that for his own children.
