Piers Morgan has launched a withering attack on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan’s plans to move to Africa.
Mr Morgan claims the royal couple is only trying to run away from William and Kate. He also claims that Harry and Meghan doesn’t want to live under the future King and Queen’s shadow.
The Good Morning Britain host condemned the move, questioning why the taxpayer should really fund the trip which he expects to cost millions of pounds. Writing for the MailOnline, Morgan alleged that Britain was “already too small” for the couple. In recent days, plans emerged that the pair want to move over to Africa.
Well, that’s quite a big move.
The Palace has reportedly said it would offer Meghan and Harry a new role.It would combine their work on behalf of the Commonwealth along with charity work and a role promoting the UK. However, Mr Morgan was quick to criticise Meghan for her huge spending and attitude since marrying Prince Harry.

He wrote: “Since marrying into the British royal family, Meghan’s already shown a gleeful propensity for spending money. That too, in a manner so extravagant, she’s been dubbed ‘Meghan Antoinette’. There was her wedding to Harry a year ago, estimated to have cost $40 million including a $500,000 Clare Waight Keller wedding dress”.

“It was all mostly financed by British taxpayers. There was the absurdly lavish $500,000 baby-shower. It was at a five-star hotel in New York, brimming with celebrities, private jets and heartfelt floral gifts for the less fortunate”.
Rumours of a fall out between the Sussex’s and Cambridge’s have been rife in recent months.
Mr Morgan accused the couple of thinking they’re the “biggest young royal stars”. But, said their influence didn’t compare to that of William and Kate. He added: “But they pale into royal power insignificance compared to their rivals, William and Kate. They will one day be King and Queen”.
“We are further told that one of the other reasons for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving Britain is to keep the feuding royal couples apart. As because the wives especially can’t stand each other. So this ridiculous African adventure smacks of Meghan and Harry trying to create their own new rival version of the monarchy, on another continent, to preen in”.
