In an old post written on Meghan Markle’s now de-functional blog, ‘The Tig’ in January 2016, she revealed that she has had a tendency to make the same resolutions every year.
Here’s all she has to say about it.
Some of Meghan’s New Year’s resolutions are as follows and that’s what she says:
“Run a marathon, stop biting my nails, stop swearing, re-learn French. These all make my New Year’s resolution list nearly every single year. I had never managed to achieve a single one of these goals”.
“The marathon hasn’t happened yet. My swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple of drinks”.
“Then comes the French, language I studied during my high school and then lost as I immersed myself in speaking Spanish with the Argentinians during my stint in Buenos Aires. I have even put my little Rosetta Stone headset in my ears every year. I was eager to resolve the interviews en français. But, it didn’t really stick”.
“Now if we go onto the biting of the nails, well, it still happens to me. I guess mostly with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It’s very unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing part”.
But in 2016, Markle decided that she actually wanted to approach the New Year’s resolutions a bit differently.
“This very year, I have resolved and decided not to have a resolution. For this new year, the only thing I focus on is to approach life playfully and joyfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher”.
“My New Year’s resolution is to leave life for the magic to take place. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break and does not move forward as decided. To set my goals high, with hands open to change”.
Well, just a few months after Meghan Markle decided to ‘leave life for magic to take place’ she ended up meeting the man she wants to live and share her life with. The man was Prince Harry. The royal couple announced their engagement on 27 November, 2017.
JUST A REMINDER: The pair, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will celebrate their big day on 19 May, 2017 on the third Saturday of the month.
