Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have inspired many with their contrasting styles. Both women are jewellery fans. But how does their taste really compare?
Kate often wears the Queen’s jewellery, but Meghan doesn’t. Why? Two stylists gave their view.
The Duchess of Cambridge is often seen borrowing jewellery from Her Majesty’s stunning collection. As one of the world’s richest monarchs, it is hardly surprising that the Queen has a rather expensive array of gems.
However, Meghan Markle is yet to be seen donning the jewels.
Although, she wore it once, at her wedding to Prince Harry. However, the Duchess of Sussex has been seen wearing a diamond and blue aquamarine ring.
That ring belonged to Princess Diana. Meghan has been seen in some incredibly expensive jewellery since her relationship with the Duke of Sussex came to light.
Her penchant for gems has caught the eye of the public, especially her many rings.

Meghan is often seen in stylish jewellery from recognisable brands such as Birks. She especially likes the Birks Snowflake Snowstorm earrings, which cost £7,000.
Kate Middleton, on the other hand, is a fan of heirloom pieces and classic brands like Cartier.
As a member of the royal family since 2011, Kate has had access to the Queen’s jewels. She has often borrowed Queen Elizabeth’s pieces for events.
Meghan, on the other hand, has only had this honour since May. However, the Duchess of Sussex seems to prefer to wear her own jewellery, and now a stylist has explained it why.
Lauren Teff, a London-based stylist, gave The Royal UK her professional opinion. The stylist said:-
“I would say Meghan keeps her jewellery quite simple but stylish. And of course, a mix of contemporary with a classic twist. She always supports smaller designers that make an ethical impact”.
Lauren then said: “For Kate’s style, she keeps it simple but tends to go a bit more classic with her jewellery. Think about the diamond earrings and pearl necklaces”.
