Meghan Markle takes on a new and highly unusual royal duty.

Her presence at the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting might just prove how warmly she’s been welcomed into the royal fold.

Meghan Markle has a busy week coming up.

The soon-to-be royal bride will attend two engagements during the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting. Given that she is not yet an official member of the family, it is unusual for her to be involved in such a high-profile event.

It’s a strong hint at what Meghan might do once she is a member of the royal family.

Markle will attend the Commonwealth Youth Forum in London on Wednesday, with Prince Harry. She will also attend the Women’s Empowerment reception on Thursday which involves charities and organisations working to promote gender equality.

Her presence at C.H.O.G.M. is being seen in royal circles as very significant. Yet another indication of how warmly Meghan has been welcomed into the royal family ahead of her wedding.

A former courtier told The Royal UK:-

“Clearly the feeling is that she is equipped and ready for the job even before the ring is on her finger. Honestly, this is quite unusual. C.H.O.G.M. is a very important official meeting. It’s quite something for her to be involved”.

The news that Markle will attend C.H.O.G.M. follows Kensington Palace’s announcement earlier today.

The announcement said that Prince Harry has been made president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. The new youth charity, of which Her Majesty is Patron. It provides a platform for young change makers across the Commonwealth in different fields.

Harry will deliver his first speech as president at a concert on April 21 to celebrate the Queen’s 92nd birthday.

Prince Harry will take to the stage along with Kylie Minogue, Sting and many more. As they have been announced to perform some of the headline acts. Queen Elizabeth will attend the concert along with senior royals. Hence, it is very likely that Markle will also be there.
