Having only met Prince Harry the year before meeting Duchess Kate, Meghan Markle had a whirlwind introduction to the royal life.
Meghan Markle also described Queen Elizabeth as “an incredible woman” after their first meeting.
After her engagement to Prince Harry 2017, Meghan revealed a lovely detail of the moment she met Kate Middleton. Meghan Markle recalled the moment she met the Duchess of Cambridge for the first time in a beautiful way. During their post-engagement interview with BBC’s Mishal Husain, Meghan recollected how welcoming Kate had been to her.
Speaking on his brother Prince William’s keenness to meet Meghan, Prince Harry quoted, “William was very eager to meet [Meghan] and so was Catherine. You know, being our neighbours, we managed to get that in quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely – interrupting Prince Harry to have her say, Meghan, chipped in to dub Duchess Catherine “wonderful”.

Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was also introduced to Queen Elizabeth before their engagement in 2017.

Describing her first meeting with Her Majesty, Meghan said, “To be able to meet her through [Harry’s] lens, not just with his honour and respect for her as the monarch, but the love that he has for her as his grandmother, all of those layers have been so important for me so that when I met her I had such a deep understanding and of course incredible respect for being able to have that time with her.
“She’s indeed an incredible woman.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in May 2018. In January the duo confirmed that they were stepping back from royal life. The couple announced that they were set to step down from their roles as senior members of the royal family and become financially independent.
