It made for a grand entry at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Those familiar with the Meghan Markle’s fashion choices will understand that such punchy shades are a rarity for Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex typically prefers a pared-back palette of caramel, camel, cream, black and navy.
Her apparel which she was pregnant was something of a turning point in this regard. During her pregnancy, she adopted print and bold colours that flattered her burgeoning bump. While she was expecting her son, Archie Harrison, we saw the Duchess in a cornflower-blue gown from fledgeling British brand, Safiyaa, at a state dinner in Fiji; in a royal purple dress from Babaton for Aritzia with a clashing red coat by Sentaler for a visit to Birkenhead, and a bright red custom Valentino mini-dress that made it into her suitcase for the royal tour of Morocco in February 2019.
This year, Meghan opted for a colourful look once again for the Endeavour Awards, where the Duchess was famously photographed on her husband’s arm in a vivid turquoise Victoria Beckham dress, sheltering under an umbrella as torrential rain fell.
