Meghan Markle reveals the most important man in her life after Prince Harry

Markus Anderson – who has known Meghan since her acting days, is said to be the second most influential person in her life, after Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex’s closest friend is thought to have influenced her latest staffing choices. Meghan’s bond with her best friend has only grown over these years.

Anderson reportedly recommended Hillary Clinton’s former campaign advisor, Sara Latham. She has just been appointed the head of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s communications team. An unnamed source was quoted by the Mail on Sunday speaking of Anderson’s strong influence on mother-to-be, Meghan.

The source was noted saying:-

“He knows everyone, and is utterly discreet. He and Sara are amazing people for Meghan Markle to have on her team. Between them, they know everyone in the world of politics and show business on both sides of the Atlantic”.

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are actually looking to become a global brand with their philanthropy. And if so, they could not have chosen two better people to guide them”.

Anderson is now the global consultant for private member’s club Soho House. He is also described as having “amassed a contact list that would make a paparazzo swoon”.

Canadian-born Anderson started with the company as a waiter in London.

This was all before he was being tasked with setting up the Toronto arm of the exclusive club, after becoming friendly with CEO and founder Nick Jones. That’s where he met Meghan Markle, who was filming legal drama, Suits in Toronto, in 2011.

They quickly become friends and Meghan even wrote about Anderson on her now-defunct blog, The Tig, saying: “What would I do without you, my loving, supportive, and endlessly fun friend? I know what, I would be bored, and life would be infinitely less interesting”.

A Soho House source told the publication:-

“Long before the Duke of Sussex, Harry came on the scene, Markus was introducing Meghan to all sorts of rich and powerful people”.

That basically includes George Clooney, Amal Clooney and Jessica Mulroney. All of them are now Meghan’s close friends. Anderson has forged such a close friendship with the royal bride, that she chose to have the 41-year-old by her side at her very first public appearance with Harry.

He was pictured sitting next to Meghan at the 2017 Invictus Games Closing Ceremony. And later, inside a private box where he was joined by Meghan’s mother, Doria and Prince Harry. Anderson is believed to have managed the huge media contingent camped outside the Mark Hotel in New York City. It was for Meghan’s celebrity-filled baby shower.

He’s also said to have helped Meghan and Harry’s relationship blossom.

He did it by organising private rooms for them inside Soho House. Not only this, he also arranged a weekend getaway at Babington House, a picturesque hotel in Somerset.

Anderson was also one of the select few friends, who was invited to Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding. Another source said of Anderson: “He is brilliantly connected. I’ve tried talking to him about Meghan, and all that happens is a big smile crosses his face. He is completely loyal to her”.
