Their love briefly died when Prince William and Kate Middleton broke up briefly in 2007. It was a hard time for both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Their split didn’t last long. The couple split in March of 2007 and were back together by June 2007.
Years later, during their first interview after engagement, William and Kate were asked about the split. Obviously because the world needed answers.
Prince William was very particular about the whole thing, stating the time apart was a need to grow separately as two individuals.

The Duke of Cambridge said:-
“We were both very young. It was at the university, we were sort of both finding ourselves and being different characters. It was very much trying to find our own way”.
Although, Kate, was very candid about the impact the break had on her. She admitted that she wasn’t really on board for the breakup, before conceding that it was ultimately for the best.
Kate Middleton said:-
“I think I at the time wasn’t very happy about it. But actually it made me a stronger person. You find out things about yourself that you don’t really realise”.
“In fact, I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you are younger. And I really valued that time for me although I didn’t think it at the time. Looking back on it”.
So what did Kate Middleton do during that time apart?
According to some reports, she took a trip to Dublin with her mother, Carol to process things. She was spotted in Ireland just days after her split from Prince William.

Kate and Carol visited the National Gallery of Ireland during their stay. However, Kate politely refused to offer any comment about, when approached by reporters at the time.
The Duchess of Cambridge, was reportedly also joined by a group of friends for the trip. Her actions proved that even a future-duchess had more or less the same post-breakup routine as the rest of us.
