Kate was pictured arriving at the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre on Tuesday. She opted for a sophisticated 70’s blouse and wide-legged trousers.
However, there was a thing that caught our eyes. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate was seen opting for an unexpected twist to the ensemble.
As a member of the royal family, Kate often sports bespoke outfits made specifically for her to wear at royal engagements. However, this time, it seems the 37-year-old decided to make her own mark on a ready-to-wear designer item. It came as the royal bride stepped out in a look worth more than £1,610.
Surprised, are you?
She sported a lilac Pussy-bow silk-crepe blouse by Gucci. It is currently selling for £790 on various selling platforms. The Duchess of Cambridge’s choice to restyle the perfectly toned purple Gucci blouse could well have been an honest mistake.

Well, the model displaying Gucci’s purple top, can be seen wearing the garment with a short bow draping from her neckline. And, in another image, she has turned away from the camera to highlight the reverse.
All about the top.
Here, a series of seven buttons can be seen spanning the length of the back of the top. The versatile look can be worn with the bow untied or with a looser knot. However, it seems that Kate Middleton may have been keen to put her own stamp on the blouse. As she put it on the other way round. She fastened the buttons at her front.
Another difference in the royal bride’s aesthetic to the model is that the bow featured longer strips of fabric. Likely because the top was worn the other way around. It’s not immediately clear as to whether Kate’s unexpected look was a deliberate effort or not.
Stylist and image consultant Victoria Hamilton revealed that this may have been accident.
However, it’s likely that it was a deliberate move made by the royal and her style team. She exclusively said: “The Duchess of Cambridge’s choice to restyle the Gucci blouse could well have been an honest mistake”.

“I say honest as it makes sense to have buttons down the front of a blouse. Also, when you look closer the line of the blouse doesn’t sit as perfect as you would think it should”.
Victoria added, saying:-
“However Kate is smart and knows her own personal style. I think this may have been a bolder move to show that fashion and style is what you make of it. Choosing to wear the Gucci blouse the ‘wrong’ way actually looks fabulous on her”.
The Duchess teamed the blouse with a pair of wide-legged black trousers which are from Jigsaw. She also carried a Mayfair handbag by Aspinal and sported a pair of black pointed shoes. Finishing off her look, she added a pair of Links of London drop earrings.
