You are sure you’ve been well and truly welcomed into your partner’s family when they feel comfortable enough to tease you ruthlessly.
Apparently, this truth also applies when your in-laws belong from the British Royal Family. Well, this time, we are talking about Kate Middleton.
For the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate the subject of the gentle ribbing is a behavioural habit. She adopted this habit while out and about on royal duties. In a rare interview in 2016 documentary, ‘Our Queen at 90′, the duchess spoke about her experience of taking part in public engagements alongside Her Majesty.
The Duchess of Cambridge was seen saying:-
“I think there is a real art to walkabouts. Everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting. So, I think I’ve still got to learn a little bit more and to pick up a few more tips, I suppose”.

We have no idea what constitutes “too long chatting” by royal standards. However, Kate, certainly had plenty of charming moments during walkabouts over the years. Just this month, she got a laugh from well-wishers in Northern Ireland when she joked a fan’s baby was making her “very broody”. To which, she also added: “I think William might be slightly worried”.
Well, there is more to the story.

According to various reports, Kate Middleton has nailed the art of purchasing gag gifts. This is one of the British royal family’s most famous Christmas traditions. One year, she’s said to have presented a single Prince Harry with a ‘Grow Your Own Girlfriend’ kit.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate also isn’t afraid to give husband, the Duke of Cambridge, William a ribbing. That too, while out on public engagements. During a visit to military personnel in Cyprus in December, William jokingly instructed the servicemen to “keep the pizza off the sofas”!
To which Kate quipped back, saying: “You’re a nightmare with that”. Not only this, but she’s also teased William about his thinning hair on various occasions. During their visit to the Sydney in 2014, she suggested he try an alpaca hair toupee, saying, “You need it more than me”.
