It will be a party time for Great Britain’s Princess Charlotte, who will celebrate her 2nd birthday on Tuesday.
Her parents marked the special occasion Monday, by dispensing a cute picture of Charlotte taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Here we are presenting a few things you should know about the family, as the landmark nears:
WHY HAVEN’T WE SEEN MORE OF PRINCESS CHARLOTTE?
It’s simple, Prince William and his wife, Kate, want to protect their daughter’s privacy.
Kate took the photo to mark Charlotte’s second birthday near the family’s country estate. The couple has always tried to keep Charlotte out of the limelight. An important exception was an official family trip to Canada. The duo brought Charlotte and her elder brother, Prince George, on the trip and Princess Charlotte even attended a children’s party.
It won’t be surprising if there’s a run on fluffy yellow cardigans with cute sheep decorations in British stores catering to kids — well, that’s exactly what Charlotte is wearing in the official photo. The outfit was chosen by the clothes-conscious Kate, who clicked the photo. The outfits worn by Prince George in public have also been extremely popular amongst the British people.
WHAT IS HER FULL NAME?
The Birthday girl’s officially named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, in tribute to her late grandmother Diana and her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. She is also known as Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR CHARLOTTE AND HER FAMILY?
The family is surely expected to spend more time in London and less in the countryside. Prince George, 3, also prepares to start school in the fall. Their London base is at Kensington Palace.
PRINCESS CHARLOTTE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE QUEEN ELIZABETH
From their charming gazes to their matching royal hairs part and their perfected poker faces, Charlotte has inherited the very best of the 91-year-old monarch.
WILL SHE EVER BE QUEEN?
Charlotte is fourth in line for the throne, behind Prince Charles (her grandfather), Prince William and Prince George.
