The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton arrived in Warsaw recently. They arrived along with their two Royal kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. They were there to start their five-day Royal tour of Poland and Germany.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal trip was taken at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. This trip is likely to be seen as another Brexit diplomacy tour. It is for helping to maintain and strengthen United Kingdom’s relations with Europe.
But for the most important part, all eyes were on the Royal couple’s children, Prince George aged three and two-year-old Princess Charlotte. Both the Royal kids are getting used to traveling overseas, by having joined their parents in Canada last year for an official Royal tour.
Prince George in a blue and red check shirt with blue shorts looked reluctant to come off the plane, as the rain came down over the Polish capital. But then again, he was soon coaxed to walk off the plane holding his father, Prince William’s hand. While our little Royal, Princess Charlotte was carried down the steps by her mother, Kate.
KENSINGTON PALACE SPOKESPERSON.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very much looking forward to this Royal tour. They are delighted with the exciting and varied program that has been put together for them”.
Prince William and Kate Middleton with their two kids are likely to be seen on only a few occasions during the tour of Poland and Germany. They will be making appearances during arrivals and departures at the two countries. Also probably at one or two of the engagements.
DURING THE TOUR.
At their on-going five-day tour, The Royal Family will also meet survivors of the Holocaust and Nazi oppression. They will acknowledge the complex 20th-century histories of each country. They will also tour the former Stutthof concentration camp where 65,000 people died at the hands of their captors.
The Royal couple will also tour the site of Gdansk’s shipyards. It is the birthplace of Poland’s Solidarity movement that helped topple Communist rule. Not to forget, here they will meet founding members of the organization.
MEETING THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE.
Chancellor Angela Merkel held a private meeting with the Royal couple in Berlin at the start of the German leg of their tour on Wednesday. Afterward Prince William and Kate visited the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of German unification.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were also driven to the presidential palace to meet Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata. They were taken there before heading to the Warsaw Rising Museum. They will pay their respects to the estimated 200,000 Poles who died in an ill-fated 63-day rebellion.
This Royal tour offers the second in line to the throne, Prince William and the future Queen consort of England to take their two Royal children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte on official visits.
