King Charles’ unusual nickname for daughter-in-law Meghan.

Meghan Markle had a really great bond and relationship with her father-in-law, King Charles.

Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle has been given a very unusual nickname by King Charles.

Meghan Markle was initially christened “Tungsten” by King Charles. Wondering why? Well, that’s because she is tough and unbending, just like the strong metal. It might not seem flattering regarding comparisons, but it is intended as a compliment by King Charles and the affectionate name has stuck.

A royal source told The Royal UK: “King Charles admires Meghan Markle for her strength and the backbone she gives Prince Harry. And, Harry needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy. Now, it’s become a term of endearment”.

The close bond between Meghan and Charles became clear when she asked him to walk her down the aisle. That’s because her father, Thomas Markle, pulled out of attending the ceremony due to heart surgery.

After the royal wedding in 2018, Thomas Markle said”I couldn’t think of a better replacement than someone like King Charles. He looked very handsome and my daughter looked beautiful with him.

Thomas further added, “Honestly, I was jealous. I wish I’d been there but thank God he was there and I thank him for that. Also, I think it might have been a treat for him as he never had a daughter”. It is very well understood that King Charles was touched to have been asked. Prince Harry whispered “Thanks, Pa”, and smiled as Charles left Meghan at his side.
